We all know that rice is a staple in many cultures; however, did you know that it can also be an excellent substitute for wheat flour? In this recipe, I’m going to show you how to make some delicious spring rolls from rice flour. Not only do these wraps have a light, fluffy texture (which is surprisingly not as heavy feeling), but they also boast the perfect level of elasticity. Consequently, the spring rolls can be folded up easily without breaking apart!

Furthermore, spring rolls are a fun and light snack that can be prepared in advance for quick lunches. To enhance the flavor of your meal, this recipe also includes a sweet and spicy sauce that pairs beautifully with the rolls.

Sweet Spicy Sauce Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon of garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon of grated ginger
  • ¼ -½ teaspoon of avocado oil
  • A pinch of salt and pepper
  • Chili flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon unsweetened jam from apricot or mango (optional).
  • Organic coconut aminos (Soy sauce replacement)
  • ½ -1 teaspoon of cornstarch or tapioca starch
  • 1 cup of water

Preparation of sauce

  1. Add the garlic, ginger, and oil into a skillet over low heat.
  2. Cook until the garlic gets a light golden color. Make sure to stir constantly for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Put salt, pepper, hot sauce/chili flakes, jam (optional), and coconut aminos. Then stir well and cook for a few minutes more.
  4. Dissolve the cornstarch or tapioca starch into a cup with 3 tablespoons of water.
  5. Mix well and add the cornstarch/tapioca stars in small amounts into the skillet.
  6. Stir for 2-3 minutes until the sauce starts to get slightly thick.
  7. Adjust the seasoning to your taste and serve.

1. Garlic and Ginger

Garlic and ginger both contain powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that support detoxification and protect the thyroid from oxidative stress, promoting overall thyroid health.

These gluten-free starches are excellent for thickening sauces. Additionally, they are easy to digest, which in turn supports nutrient absorption, a critical factor for maintaining optimal thyroid health.

5. Water

Water is essential for detoxification and maintaining hydration. This, in turn, is essential for thyroid health and the production of thyroid hormones.

6. Rice Wrappers

These are full of essential vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, which support healthy digestion, detoxification, and overall thyroid health.

7. Lettuce and Cucumber
